A la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e liturgique, notre M\u00e8re-Eglise, en bonne p\u00e9dagogue, met devant nos yeux deux \u00e9vidences. La premi\u00e8re c\u2019est que tout ce qui est cr\u00e9\u00e9 doit finir. Chacun de nous doit mourir. Le temps est inexorable et nous ne pouvons pas l\u2019arr\u00eater. Il apporte avec lui toutes sortes d\u2019angoisses : la vieillesse, la maladie, les guerres, les catastrophes naturelles\u2026 La deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9vidence est le retour de J\u00e9sus Christ en gloire pour juger tous les hommes et \u00e9tablir d\u00e9finitivement son Royaume de justice, de v\u00e9rit\u00e9 et d\u2019amour.
Comme personne ne conna\u00eet ni le moment, ni le comment de ces deux \u00e9vidences, S. Luc utilise des images prises dans son monde et les gonfle jusqu\u2019\u00e0 devenir terrifiantes. C\u2019est le langage apocalyptique qu\u2019il ne faut pas prendre \u00e0 la lettre. Quant \u00e0 J\u00e9sus, lui, il parle de pers\u00e9cutions et de souffrances \u00e0 ses disciples \u00e0 cause de leur foi en Lui. Car, il le sait d\u2019exp\u00e9rience, la pers\u00e9cution est partie constituante de la vie chr\u00e9tienne parce qu\u2019elle est \u00e0 contrecourant de celle du monde et parce que le serviteur n\u2019est pas plus grand son ma\u00eetre. Il recommande donc \u00e0 ses disciples de ne pas avoir peur de la souffrance, ni de la venue du Christ en juge parce qu\u2019il est et restera toujours fid\u00e8le \u00e0 ses promesses et l\u2019incarnation de la Mis\u00e9ricorde du P\u00e8re.
C\u2019est donc par notre pers\u00e9v\u00e9rance et notre patience que nous entrerons dans ce Royaume et que nous accueillerons avec joie J\u00e9sus quand il viendra.
