La parabole d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui est celle qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 la plus comment\u00e9e de toutes celles que J\u00e9sus a donn\u00e9es. \u00ab C\u2019est la seule, dit P\u00e9guy, qui est rest\u00e9e plant\u00e9e au c\u0153ur de l\u2019impie come un clou de tendresse \u00bb. Nous-m\u00eames, en la lisant, nous aimons nous identifier \u00e0 l\u2019un des deux fils et rarement au P\u00e8re. C\u2019est parce que, malgr\u00e9 tout ce que nous avons entendu au sujet de l\u2019amour du P\u00e8re, nous sommes toujours incapables d\u2019abandonner l\u2019id\u00e9e qu\u2019au-dessus de nous il y avait un p\u00e8re avec un pouvoir sur nous et qui pouvait l\u2019utiliser \u00e0 sa guise. Cette figure du P\u00e8re nous fait toujours peur.
Pourtant c\u2019est le P\u00e8re que J\u00e9sus nous donne comme mod\u00e8le de mis\u00e9ricorde en disant : \u00ab Soyez mis\u00e9ricordieux comme le P\u00e8re est mis\u00e9ricordieux \u00bb. En effet, c\u2019est le P\u00e8re qui a eu piti\u00e9 des esclaves h\u00e9breux en Egypte et qu\u2019il a envoy\u00e9 Mo\u00cfse pour les lib\u00e9rer. C\u2019est le P\u00e8re qui, malgr\u00e9 leurs r\u00e9voltes et leurs p\u00e9ch\u00e9s, il les a nourris de la manne et leur a donn\u00e9 de l\u2019eau \u00e0 boire \u00e0 partir d\u2019un rocher en plein d\u00e9sert. C\u2019est le P\u00e8re mis\u00e9ricordieux qui nous a envoy\u00e9 \u00e0 nous aussi, son Fils Unique pour nous r\u00e9concilier avec lui et pour nous lib\u00e9rer de nos p\u00e9ch\u00e9s et de nos maladies : Il a gu\u00e9ri nos maladies, ressuscit\u00e9 nos morts, rassasi\u00e9 nos affam\u00e9s, qui nous a fait participer \u00e0 la Vie Trinitaire et il a mis le comble en nous donnant son Corps et son Sang en nourriture et en viatique tout au long de notre p\u00e8lerinage ici-bas.
